Direct Action™ is a leadership development program that provides an opportunity for leaders to learn and grow in action. Participants work on solving real business problems that stretch their capabilities to think critically, communicate powerfully and to lead at a higher level of performance.

In the context of the Customer Service Initiative, Direct Action, would provide a facilitated approach to solving the current business issues via project teams. Through this facilitated process, the members of the project teams would develop their critical thinking, communication and overall leadership capabilities.

HOW the program works. . .

Typically Direct Action™ teams cycle through working on their selected problem, reflecting on their approach and consolidating their learnings. They reflect on how they are seeing and setting the problem and how they engage others in solution setting. They test their solution both by presenting it, and their thinking, to senior leaders sponsors. They learn leadership by leading.

The process is customized to align with each organization’s goals and strategies. The method will rely on a cycle of building theory, planning and taking action, experiencing results and reflecting to build capacity to tackle real business problems.

This learning cycle enables the team members to improve the information they use, the methods they apply, and, ultimately, the choices that they make to generate the desired business outcomes.

Business issues are tackled, results achieved while at the same time participants learn and develop new competencies and perspectives that can be applied to future business issues.
